la roche posay hydraphase, neutrogena hand cream, indeed labs retinolloreal micelar water and age perfect tonerE45 creamE45 cream

Having tried few Indeed Lab products, Retinol reface is my favorite. It’s only maybe two applications away from being empty which makes me sad cos it really did make a difference. Used it in conjunction with Hydraphase sunscreen from La Roche Posay, for 50ml, surprised it’s still not empty. Haven’t come across a body lotion or hand cream that does a better job than the Norwegian formula from Neutrogena, at that price. Oh wait, there is E45, which I like more cos it can be used on the face too.Soap and Glory body scrubsspa sanctuary body souffleSpa Sactuary body butterSLS free shampooLoreal Vector Force ReviewBreakfasts scrub from Soap and Glory is the bomb. Love most of their scrubs but the smell of that one scrub is just so (aptly named) yummy. Spa sanctuary set was a present and I’m so glad it was given to me because I wouldn’t really pick them myself if I saw them in a store. The mande lular smell is gorgeous. Give it a whiff if you see it. The body souffles are light, airy and perfect for summer. The body butters are heavier in consistency and moisturizing factor, nice for colder months.

Loreal’s hair expertise range is quite something. What really dragged me in was that all the products in the range are sulphate free. I am not sure if sulphates are really a problem, but the products work. The shampoo, conditioner and mask with golden packaging are the best ones. Vector force cream, which is to be used in damp hair, before blowdrying. It acts as a heat protectant.

Sesiphase reviewAgelock resurface night creamSensiphase does a good job at soothing, like it says. Sometimes, I felt like it was not as hydrating as I would like. Oily skin types, or people who generally prefer a mat look will like this. Resurface night cream is best for dry to normal skin, it’s incredibly hydrating. The exfoliating factor in it is not as potent that you would feel tingling or see any immediate difference. This was my to-go moisturizer many nights where I just wanna go to bed ASAP.

Philip Kingsley Elastisizerbotanics facial oil reviewAzafran SoapElasticizer -Athough discovered at the very end of last year, I have to include it cos it was frankly, a miracle product for my hair. I have written about it here. Overtime, I have started using Botanics face oil everywhere but my face. I love it. It’s a lovely moisturizer, on the face sometimes, can feel a bit too much. I love this one for below the jawline moisturizing. Azafran’s rosemary and cream soap is made of dreams, It’s one thing I haven’t found a dupe of. Still remember the fragrance of this one, it was so good.

I have discovered tons of good stuff last year but this year I really want to try out some high-end skincare. Being 28 now, think it’s time to re-evaluate what my skin really needs. I am currently reading the book “pretty honest” by Sali Hughes and I have to say, for someone who started using an eyecream at age 16, to read that is unnecessary is quite mind-altering. This book has changed my perspective, I now look at toners as scented waters. So I am doing a little experiment of excluding toners and eye cream completely for a month or so. Next post is a little haul and personal goals for 2015.

Don’t miss the battered lipstick there. Loreal’s crazy fuschia has traveled with me everywhere and likely this year too. The lightest pink from No.7 bb lips, is a great base for matte lipsticks like Bourjois Rouge Editions. It’s got a little “stick” to it, that helps moisturizing lipsticks not bleed out the edges. It does not transfer as pink as in the swatch, not on my lips anyway.MAC cremesheen glass formulas are great, if you fancy and subtle to medium gloss, this one in loud & lovely is gorgeous. There’s one I don’t have in the swatches. Dior Addict Highshine in Rose Backstage. I am literally, saving this one now because it’s about gone 😦

Bourjois healthy mix foundation plus Real Techniques stippling brush is a lovely combo. It’s not the most easiest to work with if you have primer on though, the stippling brush makes an imprint. Without primer, it goes on like a dream. Hypersharp liner has lasted me well over 7 months, it’s not even dry yet. The formulas is lovely, except it doesn’t seem to last very long, maybe about 4-6 hours, but you can layer this on an existing line. I like how thin the tip is, makes it easier to fill in lash gap.lakme caramel meltLakme Absolute Gel Stylistessie allure, barrym jelly in rose hipFrom top left, clockwise is Rimmel sweetie crush in 009/candyfloss cutie, BarryM gelly in rose hip, Sally Hansen double duty base & top coat, Essie in the shade allure, Tanya Burr nails in New York night. Lakme Absolute Gel stylist in caramel melt, that I had when I lived in India has the best nude nail polish for me. It’s just the right consistency and formula. It outgrew my nails!

Paco Rabanne Black XS , Zara woman perfume

Paco Rabanne Black XS is how I would describe, sweet and dark. Another similar fragrance to this one is Loverdose Eau de Toilette spray, which is maybe just slightly less sugary. I love just having those little Zara ones in my bag. To me, they are perfect for work, not too sweet or flowery.

Next post is favorite skincare from 2014!

For those occasional bouts of I-wanna-sleep-but-can’t.
This to me tastes the best out of Twinings Sleep and Pukka Night Time Tea.

Loreal Hair Expertise EverRiche Norshing Shampoo

I think, this might be one of the best shampoos I have tried. In the sense of how it made my hair feel after. It’s a thick lotion like texture, sulphate-free and smells like creamy honey and flowers? So lovely! The entire range seems quite nice and I’ keen on trying out the EverStrong shampoo. EverRiche Norishing conditioner is nice too, with the same fragrance and no-sulphate formula but didn’t stand out to me as much as the shampoo. The mask however, looks like it might be good. Except, it seems to be sold out everywhere!

Boots Feminine Wipes

I go through these so quickly! Love the cute little packaging. Sucks that it is limited edition though, they are always sold out at boots!

Dove Nourishing Body Oil in Pistachio Cream & Magnolia

Oils are a nice addition to a pampering bath/shower time. The only downside is the slippery mess that comes with it… This oil eliminated that. It’s got that slip for a massage but then it doesn’t leave a greasy film on the surface but just a sheen. The pistachio and magnolia fragrance is quite strong but nice. While I didn’t feel like it did a great moisturizing job on it’s own, it’s great as a layer on top of another moisturizer.

E45

The holy-grail of dry skin conditions. It’s non-greasy, soothing, non-perfumed and can be used on face.

Options Instant

They are pretty much always on offer. I love the portioned sachets. Not sure how many flavors they have.. Belgian chocolate and praline hot chocolate..OMG. Heaven.

La Roche Posay Hydraphase UV Intense Light

When Ruth Crilly described this sunscreen in one of her videos, I knew I had to try it. I have been stuck with Neutrogena Ultra sheer sunscreen for too long. Hydraphase UV is amazing, it’s moisturizing enough without being greasy and it glides on so beautifully. The fragrance reminds me of J&J baby talc, which I like actually. It’s got SPF 20 in it, bit under my preferred number but it works for Autumn/winter months in England.

Essie in Allure

I love neutral nail paints. Essie formulations are so beautiful. Allure is a a beautiful sheer-looking white. I know it’s the season to bring out darker, bolder hues, but I am not feeling it just yet. Any suggestions?

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet lipstick

Mine is in the shade Frambourjoise. It’s a beautiful pinky-red. What I love most about it is how you can layer the colour. Swipe a teeny bit with your finger for a tint or use the applicator for a full-on gorgeous bright lippy. People have complained it being too dry. But if you use a good base, that shouldn’t be a problem. Absolutely love it! Buy it from Superdrug.

Loreal Age Perfect Toner
This smells and makes me feel fresh. Read the full review here. Absolutely buying this again!

boxy town favoritesmacarons in PuneOkay, in Pune, if you want to eat macarons you have to make them and they are not easy to make if you don’t have the proper appliances. Someday I will make them again but until then, it’s La Bouchee d’Or  -this french patisserie that has made me very happy last month.

the neighbours tv show

You move out to a new house and find out your neighbors are aliens. This show is hilarious and underrated. Kind of reminds me of the Adams Family show. My favorite episode was the Indian wedding…it had me rolling on the floor. Literally! I love the cast… It makes me sad ABC cancelled the show after two seasons.. Argh!

boxy town favorites mangajoMangaJo is the to me, the perfect summer drink and I feel like these have been my favorites as far as I have known them. Love the glass bottles and they have an amazing selection of flavors. I can’t have a favorite flavor, they are all so good! Guys if you have not tried these yet, you are really missing out. Specially if you worry about preservatives and sugar.. They have no nasty ingredients in them and are low on calories.

Force vector mask

L’Oreal Professional Force vector Mask is amazing for thinning/easily breaking/fine hair. It’s moisturizing but not as heavy as the Absolut Repair mask (one in yellow packaging). For any other hair concerns, this mask is probably just meh. It doesn’t look or smell anything special but a combination of this with the force vector leave-in conditioner work really well. As much as I love trying out new products, I am always going to have this one on my shelf..or as long as I have fine hair. I must mention that I skip conditioner cos frankly, don’t see the point of it. This mask is my conditioner and I use the layering method to condition. Which is where you condition your hair, from ear down before and after your shampoo. It might sound a bit much but it’s a life-saving trick for someone whose hair breaks easily. Conditioning first won’t dry out ends, then shampoo as usual massaging just the scalp, wash and squeeze out as much water as possible, condition, wash out.

Februaryfavorites2014

February for me was a stressful month. So every now and then, I found myself reaching for calming products or happy little things to do.

Succulents are a cute little way to prep up a corner, don’t you think? And even just walking around the plant nursery was so relaxing. I picked up this one to keep on my desk.

Zara roll-on perfume is such a lovely little pick-me-up. It doesn’t have great staying power which I think is perfect for work or a train-ride.

Any.do helped me focus. It’s a task-noting app. If you are one of those people who have a million things to do but don’t get them done on time, I believe this app will help.

Click the picture for a link to it. I love how simple it is to look at, use and it has voice detection! It works so good as a widget on my android phone (can’t tell if it works the same way on iOS). Notice the green dollar sign on the right-side of “organize bills” ..it will suggest you app to help with that particular task. Pretty cool!

Lena Dunham’s “The Cover Girl” dance. Have you guys watched this? It’s Vogue’s reenactment of a dance Lena did in the TV series “Girls”. It’s just beautiful. Click the picture for link.
