BareMinerals Complexion Rescue

bareminerals complexion rescue reviewbareminerals complexion resue in tan.jpgThis was for me, love at first application. A lovely balance between moisture and glow on dry skin. There is plenty of shades to suit everyone. Because the coverage is sheer to medium, it won’t make a huge differnce if you happen to get a shade up or down. I picked the shade Tan 07, which has neutral undertones and is a near perfect match for me. (more…)

Drugstore Corrector | MUA Pro-Base

Makeup academy pro basemakeup academy probase prime and conceal swatchesMUA pro base reviewMUA probase prime and conceal reviewThis compact little palette caught my eye when I was looking for a drugstore concealer. The palette has five colours -light peach in the middle, dark peachy brown in top left, next to it is a bluish purple, a shade of pistachio green in bottom left and a yellow in bottom right. The bluish purple, green and yellow look mighty pastely. Let me save you some reading, this is not going to work for anyone over NC30/NW25. The tone of these colours are too light. Except the lightest peach, in the middle, all the colours are noticeable pigmented but still remain sheer-looking. The slippery emollient base blends nicely with fingers. It is possible to build up the colours. The lightest peach is the least pigmented one and is described as a “highlight”. Someone with fair to very pale skin might find use out of this one, didn’t work for me. None of them have any shimmer or any shine, they are all flat and matte.

Miss Sporty Concealer in Dark

When it comes to drugstore concealers, there are undoubtedly very few options for deeper skin tones. Along with that comes the hustle bustle of swatching among a dozen others around the counter, trying to get a glimpse on the tiny mirror. I’d rather avoid that. But I managed to pick this one from Miss sporty in the shade 3 dark, out of two others – #1 light and #2 medium.

Weekend Face | Spring Edit

weekend makeup routineBobbi brown skin serum foundation reviewSpa sanctuary illuminating moisture lotion spf 15Amazing cosmetics amazing concealer review

The weather scene this weekend has been predicted to be mostly sunny. Glad I have the face routine set.

Alpha-H SPF 50+ is a simple lightweight sunscreen. I have talked about it tons before. Boots eye cream is another basic, not too high on SPF but works well under concealer, no white cast and doesn’t rub off easily. Can’t believe I have never mentioned this Spa Sanctuary Illuminating lotion before. But there you go. I have had this for maybe 4 months. It’s no Dior Glow, the illumination is rather sparse. There is no shimmer, it’s quite flat in terms of lifting effect but I like that. It’s subtle and requires no precision.

My to go concealer Amazing Concealer in caramel. It’s sooo lovely and easy to put on. My current foundation is Bobbi Brown’s intensive skin serum foundation. I wrote a sort of first impression view here. I love how easily is blends into skin and has high SPF. Nude Magique primer is a new addition. I don’t wear a primer everyday but I feel like the foundation works better on a primer. As a general rule, any foundation works better on moisturized skin. That’s the aim for me. I am not mad about this particular primer, it’s not hydrating but not mattifying either. So until I find something better. Genuinely bored with lipsticks in my stash but today I think it’s going to be Max Factor in Radiant. Hunting for something new. Eyes on Clarins instant light 04 Orange! Lastly, miss sporty clear mascara to direct them brown right.

Okay, I think I typed that in under two minutes *pats back* …Enough chitter-chatter, let the mojito assemble!

Sounds like a perfect Spring/Summer foundation to me. They have 16 shades in this range with Porcelain being the lightest to Warm Almond being the darkest. I was shade matched to “Honey”. Like most Bobbi Brown’s products, this one has a light fragrance too, which to me smells like a mix of  milder balm rinse with sauteed mushrooms. The highlight of this particular foundation is the ingredients in it -Lychee, Bamboo Grass and Cordyceps Mushroom extracts. Out of Dior Nude Air, Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Gel, Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua and Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser, BB’s Skin Serum in undoubtedly the most hydrating one. If you have seen any promotional videos or just Bobbi talking about this product, you will know there is much science and Chinese skincare involved in making this.
